Clothes Line Box set with Katie & Bear (LPS sketch challenge)

Posted on 09:02 by Unknown

This little box & card was so much fun to make. I was bad & cut up the Cosmo Cricket catalogue to use as mini papers on it. Don't Ya love being sneaky & cheap? (In a crafting sense, at least.) ;o)

The {Beary Special Katie} stamp set from the Little Paper Shop is one of my faves for paper piecing & the catalogue paper couldn't be better for that (it's so nice & thin..not to mention free!) :-D

...Little Paper Shop Sketch Challenge
...building a little clothes line box

This card is for the Little Paper Shop
sketch challenge LPSC31 :

You find all the details & enter by commenting with a link to your card on the LPS blog here. Hope you can play!

...build a little clothes line box

Turquoise Core'dinations cardstock from ROy G. Biv Super Assortment
Serpentine Stardream cardstock from Paper Temptress
Vintage book paper with Peeled Paint Distress Ink & Garden Fairy Glimmer Mist
Cosmo Cricket Everafter Collection (Something Blue)
Pages from the Cosmo Cricket Catalogue (for paper piecing)
BasicGrey Pheobe card kit
Paper piercer, needle & thread
Clear buttons (with Crystal Lacquer & glitter over Catalogue paper)
Popsicle stick to cut up for the wooden clothes pegs
SU scallop punch & 2/8 inch hole punch

Step 1} Stamp & emboss {Beary Special Katie} on the pages of the Cosmo Cricket Catalogue. Cut out the bear & dress for paper piecing

Step 2} Stamp & emboss {Beary Special Katie} on Neenah White cardtock and colour her hair etc..

Step 3} Adhere paper pieces to Katie & Bear & add some embroidery knots as trim detail on her dress

Step 4}
Cut out Katie & Bear

Step 5A} Print the box template:

Click here to go Download the PDFs
(or click these pics for the JPG versions)

Step 5B} Cut the box out, score it & add embellishment

This box was printed on Turquoise Core'dinations cardstock from ROy G. Biv Super Assortment.

Paper Embellishments added:
-->the hill with fringe: Serpentine Stardream cardstock from Paper Temptress
-->the text paper: Vintage book paper coloured with Peeled Paint Distress Ink & Garden Fairy Glimmer Mist
-->red scallop: Cosmo Cricket Everafter Collection (Something Blue) punched with an SU scallop punch & 2/8 inch hole punch

Step 6A} Stitch the trim & add a little fringed hill on the box.

Step 6B} Hide the stitch end under the trim, if you like.

Step 7} Cut a bathing suit from BasicGrey paper & glue it to the box. Pierce & stitch to embellish it & add a red clothes line

Step 8} Glue more BasicGrey paper to the box & add some more paper from the Cricket Cosmo catalogue (this clothes line paper is from The Boyfriend collection)

Step 9} Assemble the box

Step 10}
Add {Beary Special Katie} to the box front

Step 11} Add wooden clothes pegs. These rustic pegs were just hacked out of a popsicle stick with really sharp scissors (the mini clothes pegs you can buy weren't the right scale & these were free.) :o)

and that's it for today...

Hope your day is an incredible one!

Happy Birthday to You Cuttlebug Challenge Blog!!! (+large gift bag tutorial )

Posted on 10:55 by Unknown
I made this large gift bag
(about 9 inches high by 7 inches wide)
in honour of the Cuttlebug Challenge Blog's 1 year Birthday!

Will You please help me fill it up with
virtual birthday presents? :-D

Maggie & many of her team have been working on the Cuttlebug Challenge Blog--for a whole year now--to bring you all kinds of great ideas. They're having a Cuttlebug Challenge Birthday Palooza to commemorate the event!

I'm just a newbie to the crew, but I am so very delighted to be able join in celebrating this milestone with them. I'm hoping you'll join us in celebrating all month long too!

I'd be ever so thankful if you could help me fill this bag up for Maggie & the gang...with Cuttlebug Challenge followers & blinkie brandishers! Teehee. If you're game, you can add yourself as a follower of blog by clicking on the icon in their right hand sidebar & there are blinkie codes to add to your own blog there too:

We're hoping to hit 2000 followers
& there will be fantastic events & ideas
all month long in September to follow along with! :O)

make a speedy large-sized gift bag:

Step 1} Score 2 pieces of 12x12 cardstock at 2.5 inches on 3 sides

Step 2} Create scallop trim & a band of Cuttlebug Embossed paper (12" long) to decorate the top. The red patterned paper is from Cosmo Cricket's Everafter Collection. The white strip is watercolour paper embossed with the Fantasy Floral embossing folder.

Step 3} Adhere the scallop & stick the white embossed strip onto the top of the bag.

Step 4} Assemble the two box sides & add a ribbon handle.

Step 5} Emboss the image (this adorable image was rendered by Mo especially for the Palooza!) For a pictorial on how to emboss this (on acrylic paint texturized paper) please see this pictorial post.

Step 6} Colour with Copic markers.

Step 7} Print the butterflies (from Mo's Digital Pencil image "Soaking up the Joy"--they're repeated in Photoshop to be able to print several at once.) Emboss the butterflies on Core'dinations Whitewash cardstock & colour them with copic markers.

The sentiment is also embossed: "Bugs and Kisses and Birthday Wishes" ...on the Whitewash by just typing it up in Photoshop. (Get it? Cuttle'Bugs and kisses.... heeehee! I'm such a stampdork!)

Step 8} Make the butterflies & sentiment shimmer by spritzing with Glimmer Mist (This is "dew Drops")

Step 9} Create mat & cut flowers from BasicGrey paper (Angel Island from Pheobe collection)

Step 10} Create mat from Cosmo Cricket Everafter Collection

Step 11} Add speedy faux stitching with Sakura glaze pen -I love the gloss and dimension of these pens madly. I pet them! ;o)

Step 12} Assemble the image & the mats, the flowers & butterflies...add stitching...

and put it all together...

Hope you can help us celebrate
the big Cuttlebug Challenge Birthday Palooza!!

Details can be found here...

Happy Saturday!
