Punched Acetate Sentiments

Posted on 00:01 by Unknown

I never pay enough attention to sentiments on cards, so I thought I'd try and do something playful to go with this Basic Grey Urban Prairie paper. It's matched perfectly by my lovely shiny paints from my sweet friend Anna Da Generous.

And Paper Garden Projects carries them now (Pearlescent palette paints by Yasutomo.) If you're looking for some, you'll lurve the price. The colours in the Putting on the Glitz paper kit match like they were made to go with the Urban Prairie paper too. It was fun to do something bright for a change.

These wee words are stamped on the Urban Prairie paper so there will be a neat pattern on the back that you can see through the acetate if they flip over...

Step 1) Stamp (or write or print out) the words & use a punch (or good ol' scissors) to cut them out. I like the Stampin' Up! Word Window punch because it makes them all even and you can just snip off the round ends. (Words are from the SU set Amazing to Zany.)

Step 2) Punch out acetate to glue the words to (Not for the faint of heart: depending on your acetate these can be hard to do. I wouldn't use Martha Stewart punches or weaker punches since I mutilated a Martha one once, lol)

Step 3) Glue the words to the acetate (I like Tombow Monomulti for that, in a thin even coat) Punch a small hole in the end (This is a 1/8 inch SU punch)

Step 4) Distress around the edges of the words with Pearlescent paint (it shimmers nicely) :O)
Step 5) Thread embroidery thread on a needle, stack the words on & thread through them.
Step 6) Tie a knot & then thread the needle on again. Add a bead & tie another knot.
Step 7) Tie onto your project, or create a loop and attach to your project with a brad.

This uses a Filigree embellishment on a gem brad from Stampin' Up!...

Thank you so much for visiting &
May your day be Craftiliscious!
