I paper pieced the sleeve with Cosmo Cricket Clementine
(digital paper from Jessica Sprague here):

Hope you are feeling simply fabulous,

P.S. Blogger has a post editor not even a mother could love! ;-) Apologies for any formatting ickiness: I am mourning the loss of my beloved old Blogger editor. We were all forcibly moved to the new one this week. ;-) And the new editor is a sad shadow of its former self. We hateses it, precious. Yes we do! I'm trying to figure out how I could turn such deep dislike into something constructive, but I'm not sure that will ever happen. How about You? Do you like the new Blogger editor?

P.P.S. "Have I told you lately how much I Love You?" There just aren't words to say how thankful I am for the incredible readers & friends that you are. You are ineffably fabulously marvelous!!! ((((hugs))))

Last day for Auction (added items) & personal note

Posted on 15:00 by Unknown
On a personal note: I'm so sorry to left things hanging, here. It's been on my mind more than I can say. Last week, we had to grab 'Mouse' the cat & the dirty laundry and head out of town to help with a serious family illness. I thought I had until the 28th to update you for the auction but I got it wrong (more about that below). It's been an emotional time, so please forgive my scattered brain.

Possible blog break, for the next couple of weeks: I did bring some projects with me, but I'm not sure if I will be able to get them blogged. I'll keep you posted. I hope to finish up my last 2 guest posts with Amber Ink this week.

An important update on the
Skipping Stones Design breast cancer auction:

I got the date wrong in my auction post. I feel like such a complete jerk! (Isn't it crazy how severe stress seems to cut off all of your regular brain functions?) So sorry, it's not the 28th as I had posted but the August 23rd. But there's still a little time to bid until midnight Mountain Standard time tonight.

The additions to the canvas:

First off, here's a photo of the secret box
that I built into the back for ya:

back of wooden canvas -secret box
(Sorry about the photo quality; I'm away from home...)

It's a panel that slides out:

And here are the other 4 little flower sets
(There will be 9 of each style, 5 styles in total. You can change them out
for a different look to the canvas or use them for whatever your heart desires)

Book page flowers:

Black flowers:

Pale turquoise flowers:

White with Black flowers:

And some "little smiling camera images":
(as a non-flower option for you)

You can display them on the wooden canvas:

...or I could make them into tags, if you prefer:

The winner will also receive these 3 large
shabby chic flowers
:

3 flowers
(hand cut from a new template I drew
that I'll be sharing with you all soon)

a white one:

a black one:

black ornate flower

a fringed white one:

[The white flowers have a soft flocked texture because they're
made with cardstock that I covered with Golden Light Molding Paste
and then texturized with a wooden Batik block.
The black one is made from Core-dinations cardstock.]

And you'll also
win these three notebooks:

3 notebooks

One notebook with a teeny tiny envelope & letter:

mini letter notebook
(Measuring just under 3" wide x 5" tall)
It's got hand-coloured embossed canvas,
lots of hand stitching,
& a vintage black taffeta label:

One notebook with cut out shimmer sprayed poppies:

A Day for Daisies poppies notebook
(Measuring 4-1/2" x 4-1/2")
The poppy background is one I made by copying & altering
the Wild Fall Poppy image from A Day for Daisies.
There are real poppy seeds in the flower centers.

And a third one with shimmer emboss-resist
using my fave Skipping Stones Design pattern:

SSD emboss resist shimmer notebook
(Measuring close to 3-1/2" wide x 4-1/2" tall)

It has stitched panels & a little hand-stitched
"notes" sentiment up top:

And that's it.
The whole shebang goes to today's winner
.

The highest bid is currently $55.00.
Thank You Ladies, you're amazing!

If you'd like to add a bid, please just say
how much in the comments below.

PLEASE include your email address with your bid, so we can contact you.
Remember 100% of your bid will go to the Komen foundation.
If you are the top bidder, you will receive a
PayPal invoice for the amount that you bid.

& there's still time to shop until midnight too,
$2.o0 from every set sold until then,
goes to the foundation as well.

Thank you for helping to make a difference!

Want to buy this project? Stamp out cancer Auction (secret box canvas)

Posted on 03:00 by Unknown
So I have an evil plan, for a good cause:

breast cancer fundraising.

I'm going to try and entice you guys to buy this thinger

by adding elements to it bit by bit,

and by customizing it to your taste as much as I can.

Today is day 3 of Skipping Stones Design's

second annual Blogs 4 Boobies fundraiser

And it's a series of auctions!

my piece up for auction looks like a card in this photo...

SSD blogs 4 boobies wooden canvas box

...but it's actually a canvas on wood

(renewable resource archival-quality wooden canvas)

SSD b4b stitched embossing squares

It measures 6 inches by 6 inches

and is decorated with:

  • Gesso,
  • Watercolour paper,
  • Heat-embossed vellum
  • Canvas,
  • Hand stitching
  • and heat-embossed pieces on all 4 sides.

I made little wee embossed flowers for it

(from the Stampin' Up Birds & Blooms die).

They have paint-distressed snaps in the centers...

SSD b4b detail

...but left it customizable,

so what would YOU

like to see on this?
:

white on white SSD b4b box

I'll be making a couple different flower options and

sending them to the winner...

....so if that's you, then

you can choose which flowers you like best

and keep the rest to switch out for a new look to the canvas,

or use however you like.

If you don't like flowers, then

you can put whatever you'd like on it. :o)

If you'd like this wooden canvas

to come live at your house,

You can bid on it in the comments

-just say how much you'd like to donate, and be sure to

leave your email (or send it to me at melstampz@gmail.com)

pretty please.

The bidding ends on the 23rd, so until then

I'll keep adding details to this project to try to entice you. :o)

&

Please check out all of the great

projects for auction on Day 1 & 2

(linked up here)! (You can read the "rules" there as well)

Please visit these talented ladies

who are also auctioning cards off today:

Skipping Stones Design blog (all 3 days' designers are there)

You can bid on all 3 days worth of projects until Aug. 23rd!

  • Rae Ann Barthel
  • Karen Baker
  • Pam Hornschu
  • Jennifer Ingle
  • Ria Johnson
  • Stephanie Mino
  • Kandi Phillips

Don't forget you can help just by shopping, too.

This project uses these two of my ultra fave stamp sets

from Skipping Stones Design:

Timeless Textures and Grunge sets:

I know my family is far from being the only one to be

fighting cancer in its different forms,

so thank you in advance for helping however you can!

Please spread the word & please remember

to get screening for early detection,

P.S. This wooden canvas has a secret box compartment hidden

in the back too. (I'll reveal photos of that soon.) :o)
