This project is a card set made as a Christmas gift for my Dad--who's a Tree Doctor (otherwise known as Arborist & Landscaper.) He's worked organically for 40 odd years now. Let's just say he indubitably LOVEs trees!!!)
He also really loves his home, so I got an extra kick out of theme of the new Gingersnap challenge for Paper Temptress--the theme is "Cozy Home." What a timely idea for the chilly weather, hey?
The teeny tiny people who live in these wee rustic houses have built a teensy cozy fire and are all snuggled up on their teensy weensy couch. (Hence the fuzzy smoke coming out of the wee chimney--made from a cotton swab top.) heeheehee ;o)
The cards use all kinds of yummy paper
from Paper Temptress, of course.
The black hills are:
Hopefully this photo will give you an idea of the Sparkle:
The sparkle paper makes digital papers look more professional and
nice and bling-y, but still really classy. :o) It comes in cardstock & text weight, so you can make
a sturdy card base or have layers that aren't too heavy.
The tree is my all-time favourite stamp ever.
It's from Little Paper Shop {Forest Critters} here:

I adore how the set has ultra cute wee creatures as well as
modern styled trees & mushies.

The black hills are:
A) Cut from a rich black cardstock: Black Licorice from the Pop Tones family is a true black.
B) Embossed by spritzing water & sprinkling on embossing powder (for a rain drop look)
C) Embossed with a fine text stamp (in clear)
D) Then adhered, pierced, stitched & beaded

The digital patterned paper in the background (white & grey geometric trees) is a digital freebie I made (linked below). It's printed on Sparkle text paper--in white (You would not believe the shimmer of that paper & the detail it captures when you print something!)
