"Have a Cookie" Box for Ruzzer (gift idea)

Posted on 09:34 by Unknown

A potential gift idea for Ya: Cookies. Yum!

I just had to make our beloved friend Ruzzer this cookie box. I used the super easy instructions for a 2-4-6-8 box from 3D Design Challenge blog. (From their very first challenge here.) It measures 2" square and you can make it as tall as you like by increasing the height of your paper from 5 1/2" to whatevah. I used the full 8 1/2 inches for this one. (Ruzzer really really loves cookies!)

The paper is Christmas text printed on Naturals White cs from SU. It's stamped all over with the sweetest stamp set byMelanie Muenchinger, of Gina K fame. She came out with the perfect set for cookie gifts this Christmas. It's called "Have a Cookie" & it meminds me of making cookies with my Mommy & of my favourite Christmas book Raggedy Anne & Andy and the Cookie Snatcher. heehee

"Have a Cookie" box:

Step 1) Print the cardstock with Vintage Merry Christmas text

Step 2) Using a piece of cardstock that measures 8 1/2 inches square (for a box that's 6 1/2 inch tall when finished), follow directions for the 2-4-6-8 box from 3D Design Challenge

Step 3) Stamp the cutie patootie stamps all over the box

Step 4) Shade the images (I used a Copic marker Warm Grey #3) Adding the shadow first means that you don't get bleeding when you add colour. But you could use a blender pen with a little ink. :O)

Step 5) Colour the images. I used a combo of blender pen & water-based markers with Copic markers. It's an easy way for Newbies like me to get Copic intensity without a lot of markers (or a lot of skill, hehehe)

Step 7) Add any clear stickles over the colour. This is so kewl because it looks like you have a million colours of stickles. :O) I used the ice variety (Silver Ice) since it has chunkier bling-factor:

Stickles always look so yummy, huh?

To add the handle I just...

1...Cut two strips of Basic Grey paper (Figgy Pudding Peppermint FIG 1008) to measure 12" by 1 1/2"
2...Stuck them to a piece of Naturals cardstock (1 5/8" x 12)
3...Attached it to the box with Basic Grey Urban Prairie Brads (that I sugared with Crystal Lacquer & Glitter.
The big handle leaves lots of room for Ruzzer to get at those cookies! :O)

I also lined the box, by...

1...Cutting a piece of the Peppermint paper to measure 6 1/2 by 8
2...Scoring at these marks 2 4 6 8 on my Scor-Pal
3...Kepping the paper in the Scor-Pal, shifting it slightly to the right and scoring again (right beside your original marks) This lets the liner fit much better.
4...Dry fitting it & rescoring if needed
5...Adhering the liner inside the box

You can check out Melanie's sweet designs with "Have a Cookie" here.

Hope your stampin' is YUMMmmmy!
:O)
