Winter Wonderland Colouring Card

Posted on 19:50 by Unknown

This is a really easy gift idea for children (or maybe even for that Stamper on your gift list!) :O) It was supah quick to put together. And if you're makin' some wee gifties anyhow, why not check out the contest on Paper Craft Planet & see if you can't win a Homemade Holidays kit? You can find the details here, if you wanna play along & enter. :O)

The Winter Wonderland kit this was made with sold out quickly, but if you missed out, the stamps will be restocked in a week! (or so, depending on when they arrive.)

And...the scene on this project (with the sweet little houses & snowman & trees) is one stamp is that's available if you'd like one: Winter Neighborhood. I've only used a part of it here since it's almost 6" inches of cuteness. If you're in the market for bling, there's a 20% off sale on all of it in the store (even brads) until Nov. 23rd. :O)

For those of you who have the kit already, or who want to substitute stuff from your stash here are the supplies & the steps to make this speedy pocket card...

Supplies:

From the Paper Garden Projects Winter Wonderland Kit:

Stamps: Wyatt Builds a Snowman & Sarah Pulls Nicky and Otto & Snowballs stocked and Ready

Paper:
Cardstock: Wedding White cardstock (images); Bazzill Icy Blue Cardstock (mat & pocket) Bling Bazzill Sugar Daddy Cardstock (mat) Bazzill Cajun Cardstock (card) Patterned papers: Bo Bunny Jack Frost Glitz paper dot

Embellishments (in the kit): 2 cream coloured brads, May Arts ribbon White Swiss Dot

From your supplies or from Paper Garden Projects:

Tombow Monomulti Adhesive
Oh so Sticky tape
Black Versafine or other waterproof ink
Copic markers or other colouring medium
Brown embroidery thread, paper piercer, & needle

Other stamps from Paper Garden Projects
that you might like for this project:
Winter Neighborhood (the house scene used here)
Not used here, but so cute: Winter Windows Letter to Santa Other Winter stamps
or any of the Christmas stamps that you can find here...

How to:

Step 1)
Cut the pieces of cardstock from the kit to size:

Main card: 11 x 5 1/2" Cajun Cardstock square card (score it at 5 /12 inches)
Images: 4 2/8" square pieces of Wedding White cardstock (One for the front & as many as you like for the inside)
Mat (brown): 4 3/8" square mat of Bling Bazzill Sugar Daddy Cardstock
Mat (dotted): 5 " square mat of Bo Bunny Jack Frost Glitz paper dot
Mat (blue): 5 2/8" square mat of Icy Blue Cardstock
Inside Pocket: 2 1/2 x 5 1/2 inch piece of Icy Blue Cardstock

Step 2) Stamp the images onto the 4 2/8" square pieces of Wedding White cardstock. One for the front & however many you'd like to put inside. It's a good idea to use Versafine ink or another waterproof ink so they can be coloured with anything. No need for you to colour them. :O)

Step 3) Mount the image onto the 4 3/8" square brown mat (Bling Bazzill Sugar Daddy Cardstock)

Step 4) Adhere a 7 inch strip of ribbon to the top of the 5 2/8" square mat of Icy Blue Cardstock.

Step 5) Over the ribbon & the Icy Blue cardstock, adhere the 5 " square mat of dotted Bo Bunny Jack Frost Glitz paper. Peirce around the edge of the dotted paper and stitch with brown embroidery thread to embellish (if you like.) Ends of the thread can be taped down on the back of the mat.

Step 6) Pierce holes and add the 2 cream coloured brads over the ribbon.

Step 7) Adhere the embellished mat & patterned paper to your main card.

Step 8) Tie two bows from 2 inch strips of ribbon (May Arts White Swiss Dot) Stick atop of the brads.

Step 9) Stick the image (on the brown mat) to the front of the card.

Step 10) Stamp, Colour & cut a second stamped image to adhere over top of the uncoloured one. Stick it on.

Step 11) To make the pocket on the inside, adhere the 2 1/2 x 5 1/2 inch piece of Icy Blue Cardstock (with adhesive at the sides and the bottom only, leaving the top open)

Step 12) Tuck images in the pocket. :O)

Thanks so much for stopping in,
& I hope that all your stamping is a joy!
